RAMMSTEIN: New Single Due In May?
February 22, 2004According to Herzeleid.com, the German magazine Sonic Seducer is reporting that the new RAMMSTEIN single will be called "Rosenrot" (Rose Red). The single is reportedly due at the end of May.
RAMMSTEIN entered the studio in early November to begin recording their new album, tentatively due late spring through Republic/Universal Records. Production duties are being handled by Jacob Hellner, who worked with the group on 2001's "Mutter".
In other news, the rumors of a possible musical collaboration between RAMMSTEIN and the Russian pop duo T.A.T.U. have once again surfaced. A T.A.T.U. fan site, Tatysite.net, issued the following update on Feb. 18:
"Director of group TATU, Sergey Bobza, is now negotiating with famous German group RAMMSTEIN to record a song. Germans have shown interest to TATU girls after having seen their performance at Eurovision. The musicians liked Lena and Yulia so much that it gave them the idea of a joint project.
" 'The representative of the German group will arrive this week to show us a song that they suggest to record in common,' [Bobza said]. 'It has not been played anywhere and I don't know what it sounds like. I only know that the composition is about Moscow.'
"Members of group RAMMSTEIN have imagined all the details, composed the song and then sent it to TATU's management, newspaper 'Life' writes. Negotiations should take place next week, but the trip of Lena Katina and Sergey Bobza to Singapore could change the schedule."
RAMMSTEIN keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz revealed in an online posting back in May that his then-favorite song would probably be called "Moskau" (Moscow). The fact that a cooperation between RAMMSTEIN and T.A.T.U. was never completely ruled out by RAMMSTEIN's management makes this latest rumor plausible.
